Olu of Aga-Olowo Commends Dangote Cement for Ongoing Support, Highlights Town’s Cultural Heritage

AGA-OLOWO, EWEKORO LG, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA -The traditional ruler of Aga-Olowo, Oba Kayode Adio Kusoro, Olowosokedile I, in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, has expressed profound appreciation to Dangote Cement Plc for its continued support to the community.

Oba Kusoro, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to strengthening the cordial relationship between his kingdom and Dangote Cement Plc.

He pledged continued cooperation in ensuring that industrial activities align with the peace, progress, and prosperity of the host community.

Oba Kusoro, however, appealed for further intervention in areas directly impacting residents’ daily lives, especially in infrastructure and community welfare.

Aga-Olowo, one of the host communities to Dangote Cement’s Ibese Plant in Ogun State, is a rapidly expanding settlement with a rich cultural and historical identity.

According to Oba Kusoro, the town originated from Ibooro and is recognized as one of the seven Agas, with Olowo being a significant seat among them.

The monarch acknowledged that since the establishment of Dangote Cement in the area, the company has made notable contributions to the socioeconomic development of its host communities, Ogun State, and Nigeria at large.

He praised the firm for creating employment opportunities for indigenes and supporting community development initiatives over the years.

Despite these achievements, Oba Kusoro appealed to the company to rehabilitate the road linking Aga-Olowo to the factory and extending to Itori in Ewekoro Local Government Area.

He explained that the route serves as a major link for both company logistics and residents’ daily movements, emphasizing that its current condition poses challenges to mobility and commerce.

The royal father further highlighted the need for adequate and fair compensation for residents affected by blasting activities from the company’s mining operations.

He described this as a vital measure to sustain peaceful coexistence and to ensure that industrial progress aligns with community wellbeing.
