By Debby Olutayo

ABEOKUTA – The State working committee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Ogun State Council has approved the dissolution of Comrade Adewole Dosunmu leadership of the Ogun State Ministry of Information Chapel, following the expiration of their tenure since July 22, 2019 and failure of the dissolved executive to set up Credential Screening Committee to oversee the election of new leaders for the chapel as advised in several letters to the dissolved exco.

Consequently, the state working committee led by Comrade Omolola Adeyinka has approved the setting up of Caretaker/Credential Screening Committee to run the affairs of the chapel before the election of a new leadership.

The committee members include, Comrade Kayode Oduyebo as Chairman, Comrade Rufai Abiola as Secretary while Comrade Yemisi Onanuga to serve as committee member.

The state working committee therefore directed the dissolved executive to handover property of the Union in their care to the caretaker committee led by Comrade Kayode Oduyebo to facilitate a free and fair electoral process into the chapel leadership within the next thirty days.

The committee is advised to protect the rights of every aspirant in the aborted chapel elections.

The committee was also directed to rout all correspondences concerning the chapel going to B Zone and the National headquarters of the Union through the State Council.
