OGUN GOVERNMENT MOVES TO ARRAIGN DJ CHICKEN OVER REPEATED ROAD CRASHES

ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has announced that it is fast-tracking the prosecution of Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following the vehicular incident on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

On that day, Mr. Abiodun rammed into two motorcycles in Sagamu, Ogun State, leaving a rider and a female passenger seriously injured. He reportedly showed no remorse and attempted to flee the scene, triggering an angry reaction from bystanders who mobbed him.

The Ogun State Police Command immediately commenced an investigation while prioritising the victims’ medical care, privacy, and recovery.

However, on Sunday, November 23, 2025 in Lekki, Lagos State, Mr. Abiodun was again involved in another crash – a lone-car incident that narrowly avoided injuring pedestrians due to their quick reflexes.

This latest episode marked the third recorded crash involving him in two months.

While some traffic collisions may be treated as civil matters to enable victims to seek compensation, certain road users pose a grave and continuous danger to society and must face criminal accountability. According to the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Abiodun falls into this category.

At least two of the crashes were captured in real-time videos, clearly showing the circumstances. His return to reckless driving just three weeks after the Sagamu crash, despite public outcry, has made state intervention necessary to safeguard the public.

Consequently, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed relevant officers to expedite action on the outstanding Sagamu case for prompt arraignment.

The Office of the Attorney-General is working closely with the Police to ensure swift prosecution.
