ABEOKUTA – As part of effort to strengthen primary education, the Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in Ogun State, is working hand in hand with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to chart a course on how to better the lot of the education sub-sector.
The Chairman, SUBEB, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi stated this while briefing newsmen in Abeokuta, said the present administration in the State is passionate at improving standard of education at all levels.
According to his Press Officer, Mr. Bola Ogunsanwo, Dr. Majekodunmi said the Ministry in collaboration with SUBEB has facilitated the renovation of over 900 schools, with provision of instructional materials across the State, as well as improving on the welfare of teachers to create a conducive teaching and learning environment.
‘’Staff motivation is part of the agenda of this administration, most especially those working in the rural areas, and we are working towards ensuring that teachers, being the nation builders are well taken care of for them to perform optimally’’, he said.
He pointed out that the government is working round the clock to address the issue of shortage of teachers, particularly in the rural areas, saying it would not relent in building the capacity of teaching and non-teaching staff.
