Ogun Deputy Speaker Hon. Lateefat Ajayi Delights Constituents, Commissions Multiple Projects In Yewa South (+photos)

ILARO, OGUN STATE – SEPTEMBER 18, 2025 – It was a day of celebration and gratitude in Yewa South as the Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi, commissioned a series of constituency projects facilitated through her office with the approval and support of Governor Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON.

The commissioning, which took place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, drew the attendance of apex leaders, traditional rulers, market leaders, civil society organizations, and members of the general public. Market women trooped out in large numbers to witness the landmark event.

Among the projects commissioned were 20 units of open stalls at Sayedero Market, Ilaro Axis; 30 additional units of open stalls at Sayedero Market, Ilaro Axis; A block of two classrooms with office and store at Ipaja-Idogo; 20 units of open stalls at Farmers Market, Eredo, Ifekowajo Axis and 100 units of solar power installations across Yewa South State Constituency

In her remarks, Hon. Ajayi expressed deep appreciation to the people of Yewa South for their continuous support.

She explained that the projects were designed to improve the standard of living and create enabling environments for business and education in the constituency.

She noted that despite challenges faced during execution, the swift intervention of Governor Abiodun ensured their successful completion.

“Today, these projects are a reality, and they belong to every member of Yewa South,” she said.

The Iyaloja of Ilaro, Chief Mrs. Risikat Idowu, commended the Deputy Speaker for expanding Sayedero Market through the construction of additional stalls. She described the effort as timely for traders.

She further called for Sayedero Market to be upgraded into an international market, stressing that such a transformation would boost commercial activities in the region.

Chief Idowu also used the opportunity to appeal to other regions of Ogun State to support Ogun West Senatorial District in producing the next governor during the 2027 general election.

She argued that Ogun West had consistently supported other regions and deserved reciprocal backing at this time.

The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, MFR, was represented at the event by Chief Thomas Lala, the Bobaseto of Ilaro Yewa.

Through his representative, the monarch expressed delight at the projects and applauded Hon. Ajayi for always giving back to her community and remembering her roots despite her political elevation.

In her closing remarks, the Deputy Speaker specially recognized the market women for their massive turnout, describing them as “pillars of support” throughout her political journey.

She also offered heartfelt thanks to Chief Risikat Idowu for her steadfast encouragement before, during, and after the execution of the projects.

Observers noted that the commissioning of these constituency projects marks a significant milestone in grassroots development for Yewa South.

It reflected Hon. Ajayi’s commitment to infrastructure, education, and economic empowerment within her constituency.
