IDOGO-YEWA – The Onidogo of Idogoland, Oba Saheed Olubiyi, has described the Yewa South Local Government Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC ), Hon. (Chief) Mukaila Adetunji Idowu and his amiable wife – Mrs. Mary Aderele Idowu as self-disciplined, humble and God-fearing couple.
Oba Olubiyi stated this on Saturday, March 19, 2022 during the installation of the couple as Aare Maiyegun of Idogoland and Yeye Aare Maiyegun of Idogoland, respectively.
The Royal father noted that the personal quality of the couple, among others, informed their installation as the Aare Maiyegun of Idogoland and Yeye Aare Maiyegun of Idogoland, respectively.
Oba Olubiyi further stated that like other Chiefs in Idogoland, Hon. Tunji Idowu and his wife went through the normal process before they were installed.
He however called on the newly installed Aare Maiyegun of Idogoland and his wife, to always work towards the development of Idogoland.
The monarch prayed that the newly installed couple enjoy their lives with good health and long life.
Also speaking at the event, Oba N.S.O. Fasina, the Onitoro of Itoroland in Yewa South Local Government area of Ogun State congratulated the newly installed Aare Maiyegun of Idogoland and Yeye Aare Maiyegun of Idogoland, respectively.
He advised the couple to join hands with other chiefs in the town towards the development of the community.
Oba Fasina also prayed that God gives the newly installed chiefs good health and long life.
In his response Chief (Hon) Tunji Idowu thanked God for the opportunity and the honour bestowed on him by the people of Idogoland. He also expressed his gratitude to Oba Saheed Olubiyi, the Idogo Council of Chiefs and entire people of Idogoland for the honour bestowed on him and his wife.
Hon. (Chief) Idowu who is also the Patron, Senior Staff Club, Osiele, Abeokuta used the occasion to expressed his gratitude to Oba Fasina for his fatherly care and constant advice and prayers for his family.
He promised to abide with the rules and regulation guiding the tradition and culture of Idogoland while he also promised the people of the area of his unflinching supports towards the development of Idogoland.
The occasion was also used by the Recreation Club, Ilaro to decorated Oba Saheed Olubiyi as the Patron of the club while Oba Fasina was also decorated with the club’s muffler in appreciation of his immense contributions as one of the founding fathers of the Recreation Club, Ilaro.
The decoration was conducted on behalf of Pastor Wale Olaode, the President of the club, by Mr. Adam Sangosina and Alhaji Lamidi Elegbede, both former Presidents of the club.
In appreciation of the gesture, Oba Olubiyi on behalf of the duo thanked members of the Recreation Club, Ilaro for the honour and they pledged to offer their supports towards the progress of the club.
The event which took place at the palace of Onidogo of Idogoland, Idogo-Yewa in Yewa South Local Government area of Ogun State was graced by creme of the society that came from far and near.
They include Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan, Ogun State Commissioner for Budget & Planning; Hon. Latifat Bolanle Ajayi, representing Yewa South State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly; Hon. Fatai Olayode, former Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs and Hon. aka. Ekweme, Chairman, APC, Ogun West.
Others are Alhaji (Dr) Badru, Deputy Provost, Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta; Hon. Lateef Salami, Chairman, Yewa South Local Government; Hon. Sheriff Adewale Musa, Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government; members of the Recreation Club Ilaro; Mr. Babajide Idowu and honourable members of the Yewa South Local Government among a host of others.
