ABEOKUTA: Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said his administration would not renege on it efforts until it has completely revamp the comatose state of its educational sector to an enviable one among comity of States.
According to a release signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye, Press Officer to Ogun State Deputy Governor, Abiodun, stated this at the 2019 Cresent University, 11th Convocation Award of first and Masters Degrees, Diplomas, Prizes and Conferment of Honorary Degrees ceremony held on Saturday October 19, 2019, at the Bola Ajibola Auditorium of the Institution.
The Governor who spoke through his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele said the state is the education capital of the country going by it highest numbers of Institutions, so the need to provide necessary machinaries to transform the state education sector.
“We are committed to education and for people who have been following our progress in the last four and the half weeks, you will see that our efforts in the educational sector is really bringing the state back to its rightful place of position.
“Our institutions that have been shut down due to one issue or the other have resumed and our students are very happy”, he said.
While announcing automatic employment to the over all best graduating student of Cresent University, Miss Abdulsalam Halimat Ibironke, of the Department of Chemical Sciences, Governor Abiodun also charged other graduands to be good ambassadors of the institution.
In his Speech, the founder and proprietor of the Institution, His Excellency Justice Bola Ajibola, gave thanks to Almighty Allan who made it possible to witness another landmark in the history of the institution.
Prince Bola Ajibola also congratulated the graduands and their parents who had supported them through thick and thin.
In his Remark, the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, welcomed all the guests and graduands to the climax of the event outlined for the 11th convocation ceremony.
While advising them to consider their degrees as a life jacket which would keep them afloat, he urged them to make the University proud through their contributions wherever they may find themselves by hard work, innovations, commitment and ethical in their future work and leadership.
Highlights of the event were the conferrment of Honorary Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) to the Royal Majesties, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu and a prominent scholar from Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdulrahaman Hamad Al-Tammami.
