Ogombo Agog As Oba Abiodun Ogunbo Installed 1st Monarch Of Kingdom

LAGOS – The ancient kingdom of Ogombo went agog on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, as the Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu presented the staff of office to the 1st monarch of the land HRH Oba Abiodun Musiliu Ogunbo, the Ogudu Oke-Oshadi I of Ogomboland.

While presenting the instrument of office to the Oba Abiodun, the Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Local Government & Chieftancy Affairs, Mr. Robert Bolaji who represented the governor congratulated the people of Ogombo saying he is hopeful that with the ascension of the new monarch, Ogombo will witness unlimited development. “

His words, “As I congratulate His Royal Highness; Alaiyeluwa, Oba Musiliu Abiodun Ogunbo and the sons and daughters of Ogombo Kingdom, I also want to inform the sons and the daughters of Ogombo Kingdom that this installation signifies progress, because Ogombo Kingdom will no longer have a Baale, but an Oba; and His Royal Highness is someone who is ready to improve the lives of the people of Ogombo and usher in prosperity, peace and progress in the kingdom.

“I Iwant to also assure you that the administration of Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu will continue to accord this part of the State, like all others, the attention you deserve, in terms of infrastructure, economic empowerment, human capital development and security.

“There is no doubt that the future of Ogombo Kingdom will be bright and promising, and that the ascension of His Royal Majesty, Oba Musiliu Abiodun Ogunbo, will mark the beginning of next phase of the journey into that future.”

In his acceptance speech, the new monarch thanked the state Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the life time honour while promising that he and his people would continue to support all the state government activities.

The event was witnessed by top government functionaries which included Member, representing Eti-Osa at the Lagos State House of Assembly (LSHA) Hon. Babajide Obanikoro; Deputy Majority Leader of the LSHA, Hon Noheem Adams; Chairman, Eti-Osa Local Government, Hon Saheed Bankole and a host of others.
