ABEOKUTA – While it’s no longer a fresh piece of information that the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), commemorated its 30th Convocation Ceremonies between August 2023, noteworthy Royal Figures and prominent industrial leaders took advantage of the occasion to inaugurate a selection of projects on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

Escorted by the FUNNAB Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde, and accompanied by principal officers, top university officials, and journalists, the Olu of Ilaro & Paramount Ruler Yewaland, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, and the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola, were guided to the Chancellor’s Lodge to pay visit to the Chancellor of FUNAAB, His Royal Eminence Edidem Ekpo Okon (Abasi-Otu V) the Obong of Calabar & Paramount Ruler of Efik Eburutu Kingdom, at his official lodge on the campus.

As part of the activities marking FUNAAB’s 30th Convocation Ceremonies, the forefront of eminent personalities leading the commissioning of a series of substantial projects on Thursday, August 10, 2023, included the Olu of Ilaro & Paramount Ruler Yewaland, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, and the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola.

In their company, were the Group Managing Directors of two leading financial institutions, namely Guaranty Trust Bank and Zenith Bank.

The Permanent Secretaries of the Federal Ministries of Agriculture and Education, alongside the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), also undertook the task of commissioning several projects.

Among the notable projects commissioned to commemorate the 30th Convocation Ceremonies of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), were the 200-Capacity Undergraduate Hostel and the Animal Demonstration Laboratory, among others.
