…As Kabiyesi Responded With 13 Songs Of Praise, Personal Testimony

ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Chairman of the Ogun State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Emmanuel Oludaisi Adekunle, has encouraged Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, Asade Agunloye IV, the Olu of Ilaro, Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas – to continue nurturing his daily walk with God and place unwavering trust in Him for the days ahead.

This counsel was delivered at a Thanksgiving Service organized by the CAN leadership in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Monday, April 14, 2025.

The service was held to commemorate the 13th Coronation Anniversary of Oba Olugbenle and to celebrate the evident faithfulness of God in his life and reign.

The memorable occasion took place at the Rock of Ages Chapel, located within the private palace of Oba Olugbenle in GRA, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State. The event was charged with a spiritual atmosphere, filled with gratitude, heartfelt prayers, and soul-lifting worship.

Bishop Adekunle, who was represented at the event by Special Apostle Amos Ajayi JP, the Financial Secretary of CAN, Ogun State, and Secretary of the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), South West – delivered a passionate message of appreciation to God for preserving the Kabiyesi, his household, and Yewaland throughout his 13-year reign.

He commended Kabiyesi’s impactful leadership, saying, “I congratulate His Royal Majesty on all the developmental projects that God has brought forth in Yewaland during his reign. I am confidently sure that even more will still come, in Jesus’ name.”

Special Apostle Ajayi further lauded Kabiyesi’s dual identity as both a Pastor and a Traditional Ruler, encouraging him to leverage his unique position for kingdom expansion. “Kaabiyesi, I know you to be both a Pastor and a Traditional Ruler who truly worships his God. I humbly admonish you to intensify efforts in using your royal platform to bring more people to God, so they may inherit His Kingdom.”

Apostle Ajayi offered a prophetic prayer: “I pray that in the coming years, the aspiration of Yewaland to produce the next Governor of Ogun State shall become a reality. With God on your side, you will continue to enjoy fruitful, purposeful, and progressive years on the throne of your forefathers, in Jesus’ name.”

In response, Oba Olugbenle reaffirmed his absolute trust in God. As a symbol of his gratitude, he sang 13 soul-lifting praise songs, each one representing a year of divine guidance and sustenance on the throne. He testified to God’s grace through life’s challenges and blessings.

Kabiyesi urged the Christian community to continue in fervent prayer, especially in alignment with Vision 2027, the aspiration for Yewaland and Ogun State’s growth and leadership advancement.

The event was attended by Olori Omotayo Abosede Olugbenle, members of the Olu-in-Council, respected Baales, and dignitaries from within and outside Ilaro-Yewa, all of whom gathered to honour Kabiyesi and partake in the joyous thanksgiving.

The Chairman of CAN, Yewa South Local Government, Cathechist John Akapo, led the event alongside his Vice Chairman, Ven. Babajide Olatubosun; Secretary, Pastor Oladapo Ojo; and Treasurer, Apostle Oniyitan. Together, they rallied members of the CAN Executive Council and representatives from various denominations for the impactful Praise and Prayer programme.

The Thanksgiving was graced by several notable spiritual leaders, includingPastor T. O. Amosu, Ilaro Area Superintendent, The Apostolic Church, Nigeria; Pastor Olukolatomi Johnson, Provincial Pastor, RCCG, Ogun Province 7; Pastor Dakot Abraham, Pastor in charge of COCIN Church, Ilaro-Yewa; Prophet Adeola Adeosun; Pastor Stephen Nockson, ECWA Church and Pastor Jonah Samuel, CPFN/PFN Block Leader.

Also in attendance were members of the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), who presented a special gift to Kabiyesi in honour of the celebration.

Musical ministrations by the CAN choir added royal delight to the occasion. Their soul-lifting worship filled the atmosphere with joy, to which Kabiyesi responded with visible elation, singing along and expressing deep gratitude.

The event was a solemn spiritual gathering where praises were rendered to God and prayers were lifted for Nigeria, Ogun State, Yewaland, and Ilaro in particular.

It was a celebration not only of kingship but of divine leadership and faith in God’s continuing guidance.
