Oba Olugbenle Supports Yewa Unity Cup With Kits, Trophies (+photos)

ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, has reaffirmed his dedication to youth development and unity in Yewaland.

As part of his commitment, the monarch has handed over trophies and football jerseys to the Yewa Youth Association, supporting the Yewa Unity Cup and encouraging sportsmanship among the youth.

According to a release e-signed and made available by ‘Deola Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the Paramount Ruler on Media and Strategic Communications, this generous gesture is in support of the ongoing Yewa Unity Cup.

Speaking at the handover ceremony on Friday, March 28, 2025, Oba Olugbenle who is also Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas emphasized the importance of sports as a unifying force and a platform for leadership development.

Oba Olugbenle urged the youth to embrace discipline, teamwork, and fair play as they compete.

The representatives of the Yewa Youth Association, led by their President, Comrade Abduljabar Ayelaagbe, expressed their deep appreciation for the royal support, noting that such encouragement strengthens their resolve to promote unity and excellence through sports.

The Yewa Unity Cup, a tournament designed to foster harmony, sportsmanship and talent discovery among Yewa youth, will resume on Saturday, April 5, 2025, with the semi-final matches, while the final is scheduled for April 13, 2025 at the Gateway International Stadium, Ilaro-Yewa.
