Oba Olugbenle Stresses Importance Of Technical Education In Development Of A Nation

ILARO-YEWA – Governing Council of the Government Science and Technical College, Aiyetoro-Yewa, led by the Council chairman, Dr Idris Babatunde Allinson, paid a courtesy visit to Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro & Paramount Ruler of Yewaland at his palace on Thursday, June 3, 2021, to congratulate the monarch on his 9th year anniversary on the throne and to formerly introduce the Governing Council members to him.

Oba Olugbenle who was delighted to have the Council members, laid emphasis on the importance of Technical education in Ogun State and Nigeria in general, saying, “developed countries appreciated the value of Technical education more than we do, and that’s why their economy is developing tremendously.

The first-class tradutional ruler said that “with sound Technical and vocational training there will be less number of youths on the street or going into the dangerous smuggling job in our Yewa area.”

He hiwever promised to fully support the Technical College, Aiyetoro-Yewa, by renovating and developing the school to the best of his capacity.

Also on the entourage are Alhaji Idowu Sijuwade, President of Yewa Chamber of Commerce, Industry ,Mines & Agricukture (YECCIMA) who prayed fervently for the monarch, Engr Kehinde Akintomide from Ogun State Ministry of Industry, Mr Akinlotan, Principal of the College and a member of staff from the College.
