Oba Olugbenle Commends Religious Harmony In Yewaland, Extends Heartfelt Eid-el-Fitr Greetings To Muslims (+photos)

ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, has once again praised the peaceful coexistence of different religious groups in Ilaro and Yewaland.

Oba Olugbenle, who also served as the Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, made this remark on Sunday, March 30, 2025, while receiving the Ilaro Muslim community.

Various Islamic organizations paid homage to him at the Ultra-modern Asade Agunloye Hall, Empire Field, Ilaro-Yewa, after completing their Eid-el-Fitr prayers at different prayer grounds.

He expressed gratitude for their continued prayers and commitment to peaceful coexistence with other religions, reaffirming his dedication to fostering unity and development across Yewaland.

The monarch extended heartfelt Eid-el-Fitr greetings to all Muslims, wishing them joy, peace, and abundant blessings.

The spiritually uplifting gathering brought together Islamic clerics, traditional leaders, and dignitaries. They offered marathon prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun and his administration, Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi, legislators from Ilaro/Yewa at the State and National Assembly, and the entire people of Ilaro, Yewa, Ogun State, and Nigeria as a whole.

Also, the congregation prayed for Oba Olugbenle’s continued reign, good health, and wisdom, as well as for other traditional rulers and chiefs across Yewaland.

Special prayers were also offered for peace, progress, and prosperity in the region.

A special Qur’anic recitation was performed by Alhaji Subar Akinola, fondly called Alfa Jeje, to the admiration of the attendees.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of Oba Olugbenle and the Olu-in-Council, the Otun Aguro of Ilaro-Yewa, Chief Ayo Dawotola, expressed appreciation to the Muslim community for their steadfast prayers for the monarch and the people of Yewaland.

He emphasized that the Kabiyesi and the chiefs of Ilaro hold the Muslim community and other religious groups in high esteem. He urged them to continue their prayers for the continued development of Ilaro and Yewaland.

The prayer session underscored the virtues of unity, leadership, and service to humanity, in alignment with the spirit of Eid-el-Fitr as a time for gratitude, forgiveness, and communal solidarity.

The event, which was attended by Imams from various mosques and associations in Ilaro, was anchored by Alhaji Rauf Adeyemi.
