Dr. Isiak Kunle Salako

ILARO-YEWA – Oba (Dr) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of his people to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for selecting Dr. Isiak Kunle Salako as one of his Ministerial Nominees.

In a statement released by Prince Femi Dokunmu, Media Consultant to the Paramount Ruler and made available to StarTrend Int’l Magazine and online at www.startrendinternational.com, Oba Olugbenle also extends his gratitude to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, for supporting Dr. Salako’s nomination.

He described Dr. Salako as an illustrious son of Yewaland and Ogun West Senatorial District, who has served Ogun State meritoriously.

The monarch acknowledges the commendable actions of both President Tinubu and Governor Abiodun, recognizing that Yewaland has not produced a Minister from the State since 1994 when Senator Iyabo Anisulowo served under the Sanni Abacha Military Regime as Minister of State for Education.

Oba Olugbenle expressed his joy, saying, “This is the first time since Nigeria’s return to Democratic Rule in 1999 that Yewa Division of Ogun State, and indeed Ogun West, will produce a Minister.”

He emphasized the significance of this moment for the people of Yewaland and expressed his community’s sincere appreciation to President Tinubu for the gesture and recognition bestowed upon them.

The Paramount Ruler shared the excitement and joy conveyed by numerous Obas, elites, and opinion leaders across the state who reached out to congratulate him, expressing their gratitude that this milestone has occurred during his reign.

Oba Olugbenle also expressed gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun for supporting Dr. Salako’s nomination, acknowledging the outstanding contributions of Dr. Salako and the unwavering support the Yewa people provided to the All Progressive Congress (APC) during the previous Presidential and Governorship elections in the state.

The Paramount Ruler also acknowledged Governor Abiodun’s decision to appoint two sons of Yewaland – Jagunmolu Jamiu Omoniyi and Olaoluwa Olabimtan, as Commissioners, considering it a testament to the Governor’s confidence in their abilities.

Dr. Isiak Salako, hailing from Ayetoro-Yewa, has an impressive track record, having served as a former Commissioner for Agriculture, Housing and Health between 2007 and 2011 and as the Chairman of the Ogun State Health Management Board during Governor Dapo Abiodun’s first term.

Notably, he was also one of the Polling Agents of Senator Bola Tinubu at the APC Presidential Primaries and Deputy Director General of the Dapo Abiodun/Tinubu Campaign Organization in Ogun State.
