ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, has expressed deep appreciation to the Founder and Chairman of Honeywell Group, Dr. Oba Otudeko, following the successful execution of a food-gift outreach programme by the Oba Otudeko Foundation.
The monarch made this known when members of the Oba Otudeko Foundation, led by its Programme Manager, Mr. Ganiyu Olowu, paid him a courtesy visit at his private palace, Oba bi Olorun ko si Villa, GRA, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State, on Friday, December 19, 2025.
According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l Magazine and its online platform by Deola Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the Paramount Ruler on Media and Strategic Communications, the Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas described the humanitarian gesture extended to the people of Ilaro-Yewa by the Oba Otudeko Foundation as “deeply felt.”
The visit came shortly after 500 residents of Ilaro and its environs benefitted from the distribution of food items at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Ilaro-Yewa.
The outreach formed part of a state-wide humanitarian initiative carried out by Dr. Oba Otudeko through his foundation on Friday, December 19, 2025, covering Odogbolu, Sagamu, Abeokuta and Ilaro, with 500 beneficiaries reached in each location.
During the courtesy visit, the foundation’s delegation briefed the monarch on the successful execution of the outreach and conveyed warm greetings from Dr. Oba Otudeko to His Majesty.
Reflecting on the past, Oba Olugbenle recalled that shortly after completing his National Youth Service Corps programme, he was given the opportunity to work with one of the subsidiaries of the Honeywell Group.
He commended the philanthropic gesture of Dr. Oba Otudeko, particularly in reaching the aged and vulnerable in Ilaro-Yewa, and offered prayers for his long life and continued good health.
Some members of the Olu Ilaro-in-Council who represented Oba Olugbenle at the event included Chief (Mrs.) Oluyemisi Oloyo, the Iya Ewe of Ilaro-Yewa; Chief (Mrs.) Adunni Onifade, the Otun Iya Ewe of Ilaro-Yewa; Chief (Mrs.) Amore, the Yeye Bobaseye of Ilaro-Yewa; and Chief (Mrs.) Alaba Adewunmi, the Yeye Oge of Ilaro-Yewa.
Earlier the same day, Oba Olugbenle also received a delegation of Yewa Parapo, a group of Yewa indigenes based in Egba.
The visit commenced with the rendition of the Yewa Anthem, traditionally sung during pan-Yewa visits to the palace.
The delegation said the visit was to pay homage, identify with the palace, and seek royal blessings from the Paramount Ruler.
The group, founded earlier in 2025, currently has Prof. Adeyanju and Mr. Fadele as its Coordinators.
Oba Olugbenle commended the vision of Yewa Parapo and advised the group to build a sustainable structure through increased engagement of the younger generation.
He offered his royal blessings and enjoined members to remain focused, united and committed to the pursuit of their collective goals.
