ITEBU-KUNMI, ILAJE LG – His Royal Highness Oba (Prof) Aderibigbe Olomola, Ikuhinmi I, the Arapantan of Itebu-Kunmi in Ilaje local government area of Ondo State, has expressed his deep sorrow over the sudden passing of Otunba (Engr.) Olabode Benson Enikuomehin.
The traditional ruler described the demise of his right-hand Chief as a tragic loss, not only for Itebu-Kunmi, but for the entire Ilaje kingdom.
Oba (Prof) Olomola shared his sentiments on Friday, May 26, 2023, during a condolence visit by members of the Kontak Klub of Nigeria, led by its President, Engr. (Chief) Segun Azeez.
He emotionally conveyed the pain felt by himself and the people of Itebu-Kunmi, emphasizing that the town had lost a remarkable individual who had worked tirelessly to uplift the kingdom and make it a source of pride for its inhabitants.
The traditional ruler reminisced about his discussions with the late Otunba (Engr.) Olabode Enikuomehin regarding the socio-economic development of Itebu-Kunmi and the efforts made to put the town on the international map.
Oba (Prof) Olomola praised the late Otunba (Engr.) Olabode Enikuomehin’s unwavering dedication, commitment, and virtues in driving the development of Itebu-Kunmi and the wider Ilaje region.
He also extended his condolences to members of the Kontak Klub for the loss of their founding member, Otunba (Engr.) Olabode Enikuomehin, who passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023.
Oba (Prof) Olomola prayed for eternal rest for the departed and strength for his wives, children, grandchildren, relatives, friends, and the entire community of Itebu-Kunmi to bear the irreparable loss.
In response, Engr. Segun Azeez, the President of Kontak Klub of Nigeria, expressed his condolences on behalf of the club.
He described the late Otunba (Engr.) Olabode Enikuomehin as a true gentleman, kind-hearted, and a devout Christian who always prioritized others over himself.
Engr. Azeez acknowledged that the loss of the former Secretary-General had created a significant void within the club that would take time to fill.
He offered prayers for strength and solace for the wives, children, grandchildren, relatives, and the club itself, and he sought eternal rest for the departed.
“The memory of Otunba (Engr.) Olabode Enikuomehin will forever remain a cherished treasure in the hearts of the people of Itebu-Kunmi, a town he diligently worked to develop both socially and economically”, Engr. Azeez posited.
