ABIGI, IJEBU WATERSIDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – Muslim faithful and all lovers of God have been urged to support the Abigi Muslim community in renovating the Ese-Ebute Central Mosque, a historic place of worship in urgent need of repair, located in Abigi, Ijebu Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State, Nigeria.

In a heartfelt Ramadan message to the Muslims of Abigi Kingdom, Oba (Barr.) Olusegun Ogunye, the Ilufemiloye of Abigi Kingdom, made a strong appeal for support.

The monarch called on people to pray for Abigi, Ijebu Waterside Local Government, Ogun State, and Nigeria, and to contribute to the renovation of the mosque.

Oba Ogunye expressed prayers for God to bless all donors with abundant rewards for their generosity and encouraged the Muslim community in Abigi to continue to live peacefully with other religious groups.

During his Ramadan lecture at the mosque, Imam (Sheik) Alhaji Balogun Musiliu, the Chief Imam of Ese-Ebute Central Mosque, also echoed the urgent need for both moral and financial support.

He emphasized that the mosque is in desperate need of repairs so that worshippers can pray in comfort and safety.

Imam Balogun acknowledged the contributions already made by the congregation, but pointed out that the funds raised so far are insufficient to complete the renovation project.

In an interview with StarTrend Int’l Magazine and its online platform, Chief Olajide Sarayi, Chairman of the Mosque’s Project Planning Committee, stated that the mosque, which has served the community for over 200 years, requires N50 million to complete the necessary repairs.

“This amount is vital to ensure the mosque remains a safe and functional place for prayers and community events”, Chief Sarayi posited.
