Oba Gbadebo Charges Onilisa To Drive Rapid Development In Lisa Community

ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, has commended Oba Oladele Odugbemi, the newly installed Onilisa of Lisaland, for initiating developmental projects in the Lisa community.

Oba Gbadebo urged the monarch to intensify efforts on people-oriented initiatives that would uplift the lives of his subjects.

Speaking at his palace in Abeokuta, Oba Gbadebo praised the efforts made by Oba Odugbemi during his time as Baale, noting that his commitment to community development has been evident and impactful. The Alake encouraged the Onilisa to sustain this momentum now that he holds the crown.

In his charge, Oba Gbadebo emphasized the responsibility of traditional rulers to prioritize the welfare of their people.

He also highlighted the importance of preserving the traditions and cultural heritage of the land, urging the Onilisa to be a custodian of Lisa’s rich history and values.

The remarks were made during a homage visit by Oba Odugbemi and his council of chiefs to the Alake, nearly two months after his installation and coronation as Onilisa.

The Alake reminded Oba Odugbemi of the need to at all times observe the extant rules and procedure of the traditional institution

He urged him to continue to ensure unity, peace and harmony of Lisa community and Igbore as a whole because of its expansion.

The Oluwo of Igbore, Chief Anthony Olayiwola Oliyide thanked Alake of Egbaland for ensuring the recognition and installation of Oba Oladele Odugbemi as Onilisa of Lisa.

Chief Oliyide explained that the journey of installing Oba Odugbemi as Baale of Lisa and now as the crown traditional ruler started in 2006, expressed his gratitude to Alake of Egbaland for making the dream come true.

He urged Onilisa of Lisa to bring his subjects together for steady development of Lisa community.

The Onilisa of Lisaland, Oba Oladele Odugbemi appreciated Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland for making the installation and the paying of homage a reality, assuring of his absolute loyalty to the traditional institution in the state.

Oba Odugbemi called on the people of Lisa to rally round him for meaningful development and total peace in the community.

He therefore restated his call for the government to address the issue of bad road from Ijoko – Lisa community for easy vehicular movement and to promote commerce and industry to flourish in Lisa.

The visit symbolized unity and reaffirmed Lisa’s loyalty to the Egbaland traditional institution.
