News Central Welcomes UNICEF, Explores Collaboration On Global Issues

LAGOS, NIGERIA – News Central TV on Thursday, October 17, 2024, hosted a delegation from UNICEF to explore a potential partnership aimed at amplifying global issues through engaging storytelling across Africa.

The meeting, held at News Central’s headquarters in Lagos, was part of a broader initiative by both organizations to collaborate on media projects that tackle pressing social issues, including child rights, education, healthcare, and climate change.

The UNICEF team received a warm welcome from News Central’s Director of Commercial and Communications, Rosemary Egabor-Afolahan, who represented Managing Director Mr. Kayode Akintemi.

During the discussions, Rosemary emphasized News Central’s commitment to addressing global challenges, particularly those impacting children in Nigeria and across Africa.

She pointed out the station’s extensive history of producing content on global development topics and facilitating dialogue around potential solutions through various platforms.

The UNICEF delegation, led by Deputy Executive Director of Partnerships, Kitty Van der Heijden, praised News Central’s commitment to covering global issues and expressed optimism about the potential partnership.

They recognized that by leveraging News Central’s extensive reach and engagement across Africa, both organizations could significantly raise awareness and mobilize action on key issues affecting children and marginalized communities.
