The newly installed Baale of Alemafo-Ijebu, in Ijebu North East of Ogun State, Baale Olorunfemi Robert Ajayi, has assured his people of his commitment to fostering development in the area.
Inducted alongside him was his wife, Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. (Chief) Mrs. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi, as Otunba Fadeseso of Erunwon-Ijebu.
In an interview with StarTrend Int’l magazine at his residence in Baale Ajayi highlighted the community’s need for further infrastructure to boost socio-economic progress.
He praised Governor Dapo Abiodun’s efforts in positioning Ogun State among the most developed, expressing hope for Alemafo-Ijebu’s inclusion in the state’s 2024 budget plan.
Baale Ajayi thanked Oba (Barr.) Johnson Adebayo Okubena, the Elerunwon of Erunwon-Ijebu, the chiefs, and entire Erunwon-Ijebu community for the support received during the installation.
While emphasizing the importance of peace and lawfulness, Baale Ajayi urged continued cooperation among his people, apparently to build a harmonious society.
He reiterated his openness to constructive input for Alemafo-Ijebu’s progress, while encouraging residents to report security concerns to both him and law enforcement agencies.
Baale Femi Ajayi however expressed gratitude for his installation as the traditional ruler and urged ongoing support for community advancement.
In his closing remarks, Baale Olorunfemi Robert Ajayi extended blessings for a prosperous new year, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing Alemafo-Ijebu’s growth and prosperity.
The installation ceremony, a celebration of culture and heritage, marked a significant moment for both Erunwon-Ijebu and Alemafo-Ijebu communities.
It would be recalled that the vibrant event commenced with a jubilant procession from the couple’s residence at Alemafo-Ijebu, accompanied by a lengthy convoy of state-of-the-art vehicles carrying guests to the palace of Oba (Barr.) Johnson Adebayo Okubena (Adaranledoye 11), the Elerunwon of Erunwon-Ijebu.
The gathering was graced by eminent figures from diverse spheres of society was unfolded under the auspices of Oba (Barr.) Johnson Okubena and in the presence of fellow monarchs Oba Cossy Salami, the Saderenren of Isoyin-Ijebu, Oba Ademola Olusanu, the Ajalaiye of Ilugun-Ijebu and Baales from nearby towns.
The occasion served as a beacon of unity, transcending political boundaries, as members of the Ogun State House of Assembly, including the Deputy Speaker in his new role as Otunba Fadeseso of Erunwon-Ijebu, mingled with colleagues from Nigeria Customs and media friends.
Following the traditional conferment, guests convened at the reception venue, indulging in sumptuous meals and fine beverages.
The spirited singing and dancing of Alemafo-Ijebu residents reverberated the community’s joy for their new Baale, showcasing a profound bond with the Ajayi family.
The celebratory fervor was heightened by the presence of distinguished guests such as Otunba (Giwa) Adesanya Yusuf, the Bobaseilu of Ijebu, and Giwa Egbe Bobagunte (Okunrin) Akile-Ijebu; Asiwaju Taiwo Adeniji, Bobaseye of Ijebu; Bobagunwa Gbenga Fetuga; Otunba (Arc.) Osifeso, the Otunba Apagunpote and Otunba Ahmed Bello, the Bobadara of Erunwon-Ijebu.
Others were Alhaji Sijuwade Idowu, the Acting President of Yewa Metropolitan Club and former President of Yewa Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (YECCIMA); Elhadj (Otunba) AbuSatar Idowu Hamed, Otun Baaroyin of Ilaro-Yewa and Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of StarTrend Int’l magazine and online; Mr. Adam Sangosina, former President of Recreation Club, Ilaro-Yewa; Mr. Akinola Akindele, Publisher of Paramount Magazine and online.
Also at the event were, Alhaji (Chief) Waidi Haruna (Wadoye), the Bobagunwa of Ilaro-Yewa & Chairman/Chief Executive of Wadoye Express Limited, attended with his wife, Alhaja (Chief) Mrs. Memunat Haruna, the Yeye Bobagunwa of Ilaro-Yewa. Also present were Barr.
