ABEOKUTA – The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Ogun State Chapter in conjunction with Gender Development Initiative (GENDI), will be celebrating the International Day of the Rural Women on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Idi-Ori Village, Beside Baale’s House, Via Ilese-Awo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l & online – www.startrendinternational.com by Comrd. Modupeola Sobukola, Chairperson, Ogun NAWOJ, the theme for this year International Day for rural women is “Building Rural Women’s Resilience in the Wake of Covid-19”.
To cushion the effects of Covid-19 on the rural women, NAWOJ in collaboration with GENDI is organising training and capacity building on liquid soap making, sustainable Agricultural programmes and importance of the healthy life for rural women in the selected community.
The Ogun State Commissioner For Rural Development, Hon Taiwo Oludotun is the Special Guest of Honour, the Chairman, Transition Committee, Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Tunde Tella will Chair the occasion while the Baale’s of Idiori, Abeokuta, Chief Daud Adegboyega will also be in attendance.
