How MC Oluomo Emerges NURTW National President, Calls For Unity, Preservation Of Livelihoods As He Forgives All(+photos)

OSOGBO, OSUN STATE, NIGERIA – Former Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Mr. Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has announced that he has forgiven everyone who may have wronged him.

In his acceptance speech as the President-elect of NURTW, Oluomo conveyed a message of reconciliation.

Declaring his intent to foster unity within the union, he said, “I have forgiven everyone who has offended me, and I hope those I have offended will forgive me as well.”

Oluomo was declared the winner of the election at the NURTW’s event in Osogbo, Osun State, on Saturday, November 9, 2024. The election took place at the Union’s Zonal Secretariat on Osogbo/Ikirun road, where he was the sole candidate in the running.

After taking the oath of office, Oluomo, supported by family and associates, pledged to work towards unity within the union. Emphasizing his commitment to preserving the NURTW as a critical source of income for its members, he added, “This is our union, and we must be committed to preserving it. We will not allow anyone to destroy our means of livelihood.”

Delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti participated in the election, held during the Union’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference. The acting National President of NURTW, Aliyu Issa-Ore, was present to observe the election process.

In a statement, Mrs. Adedamola Salam, Head of Finance at the NURTW National Headquarters in Abuja, praised the Southwest zone for adhering to the union’s constitutional requirements.

She affirmed that the zone had fully complied with the rules in electing Oluomo as President.

In addition to Oluomo’s election, Tajudeen Agbede was chosen as Vice President for the Southwest zone, while Akeem Adeosun was appointed as the Zone’s Trustee, further solidifying the region’s leadership structure.
