Mama Apampa Commends Ilaro Ward 3 Progressives, Calls for Stronger APC Unity Ahead of 2027 (+photos)

ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – A national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief (Mrs) Iyabode Matilda Apampa, has commended members of the Ilaro Ward 3 Progressive Family for their solidarity and commitment to party ideals.

Popularly known as Mama Apampa, she made this remark during a courtesy visit by the group at her residence in GRA, Ilaro-Yewa, on Saturday, November 22, 2025. The delegation was led by its chairman, Elder Idowu Olaotan.

Expressing her delight, Mama Apampa described the unity within Ilaro Ward 3 as a good omen for the APC, noting that harmony among members is vital to the growth and success of the party.

She urged other wards in Yewa South Local Government and Ogun West to embrace unity and avoid issues capable of distracting the party from achieving its objectives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Chief (Mrs) Apampa also appreciated Alhaji (Otunba) Tunji Idowu, fondly called “Akara”, a prominent APC leader in Yewa South, for his relentless efforts in bringing eminent personalities back to Ilaro Ward 3 and other Wards in the region.

She acknowledged his strides in attracting progressive-minded individuals to the party and called on members to support him in building an indivisible APC family.

Members of the visiting group later offered prayers for Mama Apampa’s long life and good health.

Earlier in his address, the team leader, Elder Idowu Olaotan, described Chief (Mrs) Apampa as a bridge-builder and philanthropist who has devoted her life to putting smiles on the faces of people who cross her path.

He noted that Mama Apampa deserves commendation for her remarkable contributions to the political and socio-economic development of Yewa and Ogun State, explaining that the visit was to honour and appreciate her.

Elder Olaotan stated that the Ilaro Ward 3 Progressive Family was established to work for the progress of the party and the welfare of its members.

He called on party leaders to always remember grassroots members through empowerment opportunities such as appointments and contracts, so they could enjoy the fruits of their labour while alive.

He also thanked Alhaji (Otunba) Tunji Idowu for his unwavering love for the party and its members, praying for God’s continued blessings, guidance, and protection over him and his family.

Speaking further, Elder Olaotan said: “Ilaro Ward 3 Progressive Family stands for unity and peace among the good people of Ilaro Ward 3, and for the protection and promotion of good governance in Yewa South and, by extension, Ogun State, with our motto: ONE FAMILY.”

The visit was attended by several ward leaders and members, including Pa. J. O. Segun, Pa. Busari Lateef, Hon. M. Akinyemi, Mr. M. K. Opeifa, Hon. Tunde Okewole, Elder Niyi Ojo, Chief O. Fasipe, Mr. Emmanuel Idowu, Mr. Najeem Orobiyi, Mrs. Serifat Akindele, Mr. Kola Bankole, Mr. Muri Ogunbiyi, Chief Sebil Hamed, Prince Musa Olugbenle, Engr. Orobiyi, Mr. Abolaji Abiodun, Mrs. Modupe Falet, Mrs. Nofisat Raji, Mr. Adeagbo Tajudeen, Mr. Adewuyi Ramon, Mr. Mukaila Ibrahim and Mr. Alani Akinlotan Akaba.

Others present included the chairman of the group, Elder Idowu Olaotan, who led the meeting.
