AKURE, ONDO STATE, NIGRIA – The Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot-Soldiers (LACO-SF) vehemently denounces the heinous murder of Alaba Excel Abbey, a dedicated campaign coordinator for incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State.
Abbey tragically lost his life in a brutal assassination at his home in Supare Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area.
Kayode Fasua, spokesperson for the campaign organization, has urged security agencies, particularly the police, to ensure the safety of its members and protect them from such merciless attacks.
Fasua emphasized Abbey’s unwavering commitment to Aiyedatiwa’s campaign endeavors, underscoring his active participation until his untimely demise.
David Ajobiewe, the Director-General of LACO-FS in Akoko Southwest Local Government, lamented the loss, emphasizing Abbey’s non-violent nature and absence of prior conflicts.
Mr. Abbey, who served as the ward coordinator for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization Foot-Soldiers (LACO-SF), was also the returning officer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 10 during the recent party primaries.
Confirming the incident, Mr. Samuel Abbey, the deceased’s younger brother, disclosed that the politician was shot in front of his house.
The police authorities, represented by Police Public Relations Officer Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident and assured that investigations were underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
