
Otunba (Dr.) Wale Ademowo, former Entertainment and Society Editor of the Nigerian Tribune, spoke with Abu-Satar Hamed of StarTrend Int’l Magazine and online platform on Friday, September 25, 2025, shortly after the interment of his beloved wife, Chief (Mrs.) Bolajoko Beatrice Ademowo (née Senbajo).
In the emotional interview, Otunba Ademowo described his wife’s passing as a devastating blow – one that shook the very foundation of his existence.
He admitted that her death had created an irreplaceable void in his life, leaving behind pain and memories that words can hardly capture. Excerpts:
How would you describe the death of your wife?
Her death was a devastating blow, one that shook the very foundation of my life. It was sudden and painful, leaving behind a void that words can hardly capture.
What was your reaction when you first received the news of her death?
The moment I heard the news, I was completely shattered. It felt like the world stood still, and I was overwhelmed with disbelief and sorrow.
Coming to terms with it has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced.
What are you going to miss most about her?
I will deeply miss her companionship, her gentle counsel, her unwavering love, and the warmth she brought into our home. She was my partner in every sense of the word, and life will never be the same without her.

How did the children react to the death of their mother?
The children are heartbroken. Losing their mother at this stage of their lives is a heavy burden, and each of them is dealing with the grief in their own way.
Yet, they draw strength from her legacy of love, discipline, and care.
Who was Chief (Mrs.) Beatrice Ademowo?
Chief (Mrs.) Beatrice Ademowo was more than a wife and mother; she was a pillar of strength, a woman of virtue, and a mother to many beyond her biological children.
