LAGOS, NIGERIA – Nigerian-born broadcaster, author, actor, and musician, Prince Okes Masima has made headlines again – this time with the release of a spiritually inspired song titled “Lion of Africa,” a tribute to Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.

The Delta State-born prince, who has long been a cultural ambassador for Nigeria in Europe in an interview with StarTrend Int’l magazine and online platform, revealed that the song was born out of a vivid dream he had two months ago.

In the dream, Prince Masima, fondly called Baba4ever, saw Minister Wike flanked by two lions – one on each side. Upon waking, he was stirred by a melody and lyrics that wouldn’t leave his mind.

“I couldn’t rest,” the artiste recounted. “The dream felt spiritual, and the song came straight from that experience. I didn’t plan to write about Wike, I simply obeyed the inspiration. I had no peace until I went into the studio and recorded it.”

Despite never meeting or interacting with Minister Wike, the Baba4ever said the message was too powerful to ignore.

Driven by conviction rather than commercial interest, he fully funded and produced the track himself.

“Lion of Africa,” though inspired by a personal dream, is more than just a song – it is a spiritual declaration.

According to the artiste, the image of lions in the dream symbolizes leadership, courage, and divine guardianship.

“I believe this is a prophetic message. Sometimes, God chooses unconventional ways to speak. I was just the vessel”, he said.

With this release, Baba4ever added another layer to his multidimensional career – one that continues to bridge continents, cultures, and spiritual insight.

The song “Lion of Africa” is now available on major platforms and is already generating buzz among listeners who appreciate its powerful message and heartfelt origin.

Beyond his musical talents, Prince Okes Masima is a man of many firsts. A seasoned broadcaster, he has worked with Radio Nigeria One, OGBC Abeokuta, and Galaxy TV before relocating to Sweden, where he made history as the first African to present English-language radio programmes in the country.

He hosted the pioneering show “Sounds from Africa” on K103 FM Gothenburg, introducing African music and culture to European audiences.

In recognition of his work in promoting African tourism and entertainment abroad, he was awarded the African Diaspora Merit Award in October 2018 in Holland.

In 2022, Prince Okes Masima again broke new ground by authoring “Guide on Nigeria and Tourism”, the first-ever Nigerian tourism handbook.

The book, launched in Nigeria, served as a detailed reference for both local and international visitors interested in exploring the nation’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

“As a cultural ambassador, it’s my mission to tell the Nigerian story through media, music, and literature. We are a proud, diverse nation, and I want the world to see that”, he said.
