AYETORO-YEWA – Rural dwellers of Yewa North Local Government Area were full of joy as Ogun State Government commenced the reconstruction of deplorable roads in the area.
According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l & online – www.startrendinternational.com by Lateef Akintunde, Zonal Infomation Officer, Ayetoro., about 21 km long abandoned bad roads stretching from Ayetoro, Igan Okoto and Imasai were currently undergoing reconstruction by the administration to make it motorable and boost socio-economic activities of the council and its environs.
Speaking with newsmen at Ayetoro, Baale of Joga Ayetoro, Chief Solomon Akinlotan said, “the intervention would enable farmers transport their produces from adjoining towns to urban centres with easy, drive as well as easy movement of commuters from Ayetoro to Ilaro, Owode-Idiroko and other states like Lagos among others.”
He solicited that such rehabilitation should extend to other roads like Igan-Okoto-Igbogila roads.
The Otunba of Igan Okoto, Chief Sharafadeen Adeleye, commended the intervention which he said addressed the yearning of rural dwellers and the residents in general.
Also, the Chairman, Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Mr. Rasaki Ogundeji and a trader, Mrs. Folake Sanu, appreciated the State Government, saying traders, commuters and motorcyclists plying the roads would hive a sigh of relief.
