The Imasayi Descendants Association in the Diaspora has sent their condolences to the families of those whose lives were untimely cut short during the recent ugly incident between the military and the people of Imasayi in Yewa North Local Government area of Ogun State.
According to a press release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Chief Dr. Toye Moses (President) and Mr. Tunde Elegbede (Secretary), Imasayi Descendants Association, USA, EU & CANADA, the association said; “We send our deepest gratitude to the Executive Governor of Ogun State His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his intervention during the military invasion of Imasayi on both Saturday and Sunday the 14th and 15th of March 2020.
“We use this opportunity to thank His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Paramount Ruler Of Yewaland and His Royal Highness, Oba Adesola Oni, the Olu of Imasayi and Senator Tolu Odebiyi for their momentous roles in bringing a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
“We call on the authorities to conduct their investigations with respect to the fundamental human rights of the people of Imasayi and our dignity. We also call on them not to intimidate and harass the innocent people of the town as they go about their daily lives.
“We implore the authorities to leave no stone unturned and deliver true, swift and open justice in their investigations in the alleged crime that led to the invasion.
“We the people of Imasayi believe in justice, law and order. Anyone found responsible and complicit in the breaking of the law and in committing the ultimate crime of homicide should be dealt with the utmost power of the law. They should be severely punished for their crimes. We do not harbour criminals and they will not find sanctuary and refuge in our midst.”
The association expressed its special acknowledgment and gratitude to “the following honorable men in recognition of their relentless and tireless mediation and efforts during these trying times:
They include Mr. Jimoh Olaifa, Mr. Babatunde Bankole – Chairman of Yewa North Local Government and CP Valentine Ntomchukwu, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police
“Once again, we call for peace and implore the authorities to respect the sanctity of lives in our peaceful town of Imasayi”, the group submitted.
