…Encourages Nigerian Residents In Manchester To Embrace Community Participation
BY ABU-SATAR HAMED (reporting from Manchester, UK)
MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM – Muslims have been encouraged to lend a helping hand to those in need whenever the opportunity arises.
Imam Waasiu Adeniran, a renowned Islamic scholar and spiritual leader, made this appeal on Sunday, December 22, 2024, during the weekly Assalat Prayer at the Nasirulahi Walifathu Islamic Centre in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom.
Imam Adeniran highlighted the spiritual significance of assisting the less fortunate, noting that God blesses some individuals to serve as a source of support for those in dire need.
“God has blessed some people because of the have-nots. Therefore, we should always remember to help those who truly need our assistance,” he said.
The Islamic scholar also urged Nigerians residing in Manchester, UK to actively participate in community and group activities, stressing the importance of joining reputable associations for mutual welfare and support.
“In this country, it’s advisable for Nigerians living here in Manchester to join any reputable association or group for the benefit of our welfare,” Imam Adeniran advised.
He lamented that some Nigerians isolate themselves until they face challenges, saying, “Experience has shown that some Nigerians don’t bother to identify with their people in Manchester, but when they run into problems, they start to look for their kinsmen to help them out.”
Addressing marital relationships, Imam Adeniran called on wives to love and support their husbands, while urging husbands to reciprocate these good deeds.
He emphasized that the harmony and cooperation between couples ultimately benefit their children.
“Whatever couples do for each other, their children are at the receiving end,” the Imam remarked.
Imam Adeniran prayed for the residents of Greater Manchester and the Nigerian community within the area.
He extended his warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.
