MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM – Imam Wasiu Adeniran Alao, a prominent Islamic scholar, spiritual leader and lead Imama at Nasirulahi Waii Fathu, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom, has advised Muslims to use every opportunity to help those in need.
The Islamic scholar emphasized this during the weekly Assalat Prayer on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Nasirulahi Walifathu Islamic Centre, Manchester, United Kingdom.
Highlighting the spiritual significance of charity, Imam Adeniran reminded the congregation that God often blesses individuals to enable them to support others.
“God has blessed some people because of the have-nots. Therefore, we should always remember to help those who truly need our assistance,” he said.
Imam Adeniran also called on Nigerians residing in Manchester to actively engage in community activities.
He stressed the importance of joining reputable associations to promote mutual welfare and support.
“In this country, it’s advisable for Nigerians living here in Manchester to join any reputable association or group for the benefit of our welfare,” the Imam advised.
He expressed concern that some Nigerians remain isolated until they face challenges. “Experience has shown that some Nigerians don’t bother to identify with their people in Manchester, but when they run into problems, they start to look for their kinsmen to help them out”, he lamented.
Addressing marital harmony, Imam Adeniran urged wives to love and support their husbands, while calling on husbands to reciprocate these efforts.
He noted that cooperation and mutual respect between couples ultimately benefit their children, saying, “Whatever couples do for each other, their children are at the receiving end.”
In his address, Ustaz Mufodiu Olaseni Junaid, Chief Imam of Nasirulahi Walifathu Islamic Centre, Manchester, advised the congregation to remain steadfast in their worship of Allah.
He reminded them to place their trust in God rather than humans. “It’s only Allah that can do everything without taking anything back except gratitude.
“I want to advise us to have faith in Allah and always look up to Him for our needs. He alone can grant our requests in His perfect time”, he said.
Ustaz Junaid also praised the elders, women, and youth of the Nasirulahi Walifathu Islamic Centre for their dedication to building the Islamic organization and its mosque in Manchester.
He prayed for God to replenish the resources of every Muslim who contributes to the propagation of Islam.
Imam Ghaphar Nasirulah, who also led prayers at the mosque, echoed the need for members to continue showing love and unity towards one another.
The cleric prayed for Allah to grant the members the strength and resources to worship Him eternally.
During the gathering, Ustaz Junaid introduced Elhadj Abu-Satar Idowu Hamed, a first-time attendee of the Assalat prayer.
The media guru was visiting Manchester from Nigeria to spend time with his children, among who is Alhaji Abiola Kumoye, Chairman of the Nigerian Community Greater Manchester and a devoted member of the Islamic Centre.
Imam Wasiu Adeniran Alao concluded his sermon by praying for the residents of Greater Manchester and the Nigerian community in the area.
He extended warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance, emphasizing unity and goodwill during the festive season.
