IJEBU ODE – The Chairman, Transition Committee, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile, has commended the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun for his lofty Initiative in creating the Ministry of Transportation in the state.
According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Tope Oyekan, Director, Information, Education and Sports, Engr. Olugbile gave this commendation while speaking during an interview with pressmen, while accompanying the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Ogun State, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, on inspection to the Lagos Garage, one of the public motorparks in Ijebu Ode.
The council boss was full of praises to the Governor, for putting a “Son of the Soil”, who is a round peg in a round hole, at the helm of affairs in the newly-created Ministry.
“I am very optimistic that the transportation sector in Ogun State will be reorganised, and that our local governments stand a better opportunity of having their infrastructures more developed, particularly, the road networks,” Olugbile said.
Earlier in his address, the Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, said the state is in a development process of transformation masterplan, and there is need to visit the local government areas and identify challenges being faced in the transportation sector, and subsequently, through the collaboration of stakeholders, proffer a lasting solutions to them.
The Government, according to the Commissioner is working on making mobility easier for all, particularly, public transportation, through the provision of motorable roads.
While at the motor park, the Commissioner had interactions with the Transport Unions as he also monitor the compliance of motorists and commuters with COVID-19 Protocols.
Engr. Dairo had earlier met the Chairman, Transition Committee, Engr. Olugbile, Head of Local Government Administration, Dr. Adeolu Olufowobi, and the Director of Works, Engr. Olufisan Osiyale.
