The Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade Political Team has appealed to the people of Ogun West to exercise restraint amidst recent politically heated comments made by some political figures within the region.
In a statement signed by Dr. Oladiji Olayemi, Director of Media and Publicity for the Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade Team, and shared with StarTrend Int’l magazine and online platform, the group acknowledged the emotional outburst of Hon. Laiwola Taiwo, a respected leader, attributing it to emotional deregulation that should be disregarded.
“Akinlade, a distinguished member of the Parliament, is a man of honour, peace, and dignity committed to the unity, progress, and well-being of his people. He remains unshaken by baseless talks and focuses on serving his people and God. Baba Adinni firmly believes that through unity and collective action, Ogun West will achieve its goals in 2027, Insha Allah.”
The statement further recalled that during the 2015 gubernatorial elections, Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade enjoyed the loyal support of Chief Lai Taiwo, who led his campaign team across the state, noting, “Chief Taiwo once praised Akinlade as the best leader Ogun West had ever produced, even more so than his current association with Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi.”
The group emphasized that despite the recent disagreements, their longstanding mutual respect and understanding with Chief Taiwo prevents them from engaging in public disputes.
“For the brotherly, mutual understanding and respect that they both shared till now, we are constrained not to join issues with him but to enjoin him to tread softly.”
The Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade Team reiterated Akinlade’s commitment to peace and unity, emphasizing that he would not be dragged into petty disagreements.
“The gentle stride of a tiger is not an act of cowardice. The grace of Almighty Allah in Akinlade will not allow him to descend low.”
They encouraged the people of Ogun West to use the sacred periods of Ramadan and Lent to foster unity and reconciliation.
The group also appealed to political leaders, traditional rulers (Kabiesis), and stakeholders from Ogun Central and Ogun East to support Ogun West’s political aspirations toward achieving success in 2027.
The group expressed its appreciation to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his support, praying for continued strength and guidance for him.
They also encouraged Akinlade to remain steadfast in his service to humanity, praying for divine protection against adversaries.
“We enjoin Rt. Hon. Akinlade, Baba Omokeke, to remain unwavering in his service to humanity. We pray that Almighty Allah will continue to bless and protect him against all the evil plans of the enemies. Baba Adinni, you are our pride, a shining star, and the golden son of Yewa and Aworiland that we are all proud of.”
Dr. Oladiji Olayemi emphasized the need for forgiveness, unity, and collective effort as Ogun West looks forward to 2027.
“Let us forget and forgive as perfection belongs to Almighty Allah. All hands must be on deck as we journey to 2027. We pray to Almighty Allah to spare our lives with good health. In unity, love, and togetherness, we shall break the jinx.
“Akinlade, the Akinrogun of Ipokia kingdom, Bobagunwa of Itoroland, Asiwaju of Owode-Yewa, Omo Akin, ride on as what is in you is greater than what is in them.”
