Gbemisola, the elder sister of controversial Nigerian musician Portable, has alleged that her brother is under a spiritual spell cast by a family member.
She made this claim while reacting to his ongoing legal troubles with the Ogun State government.
In a viral video circulating on X, Portable’s sister apologized for his controversial actions. She claimed that their family member, identified as Akeem, is spiritually influencing the singer’s behavior, leading to his recent troubles.
“People of Nigeria, I greet you all. I’m Portable’s eldest sister, the first child of his mother. We are just three that our mother gave birth to.
Portable has never stolen before. I have never come out like this to speak, and he hasn’t even posted me despite being his sister. But he is the only one taking care of the family. If not for him, I would have died during my sickness.
One of our family members, Akeem, is the one casting a spell on Portable. He is the one spiritually influencing Portable to misbehave and offend Nigerians,” she stated.
On Thursday, February 6, 2026, the Ogun State Government arraigned Portable, who is currently at large, for allegedly assaulting officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
He was arraigned alongside nine of his associates before the Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court.
Speaking from his undisclosed location, Portable pleaded with the government to release his detained associates, claiming he was being set up by certain individuals.
He also challenged the authorities to provide video evidence of the alleged assault.
Amid his frustration over the case, the singer issued a concerning statement, warning that he might take his own life due to the overwhelming pressure of the situation.
