…As Chief Kunle Badmus Hosts Guests In Honour Of Bioku

IBADAN, OYO STATE, NIGERIA – Guests at a private event in Ibadan lauded Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for appointing credible individuals to sensitive positions in the state’s administration.
The praise came as Mogaji (Prince) Ismail Adebukola Bioku, former Permanent Secretary, Audit Service Commission of Oyo State who was recently elevated to the position of Auditor-General for Local Governments of Oyo State.
Speaking at the event held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the Vice Chancellor of Leed City University, Prof. Yemi Kabiru Adeyemo, described the appointment of Mogaji Bioku as a case of “a round peg in a round hole.”
He commended Governor Makinde for placing honest, humble, and God-fearing individuals like Bioku in key offices.
The event was graciously sponsored by Engr. (Chief) Kunle Badmus, the Mayegun of Oluyole, Ibadanland, a respected member of the Aj’Orosun Club Ibadan and a member of its Executive Council.
Chief Badmus organized the event to celebrate Bioku’s elevation and his continued service to Oyo State.
Pa James Alade, who gave the opening prayer, expressed no surprise at Bioku’s promotion. He affirmed that Mogaji Ismail Adebukola Bioku is a true son of the Bioku dynasty in Ibadan, a family known for integrity and impeccable character.
An elder of the Omo Aj’Orosun Club, Pa Alade praised the appointment as a wise decision by Governor Makinde.
Dr. Tunde Aremu, Permanent Secretary, Ibadan Health Office I, remarked that Bioku is a selfless individual who consistently works for the progress of any group he belongs to.
Having worked alongside Bioku in a group of Oyo State Permanent Secretaries, he described Mogaji Bioku as a humanist and embodiment of honesty.
The Baale of Aboundẹ, Chief Adebayo Ajobo, also celebrated Bioku’s elevation. He described him as honest, humble, and God-fearing – qualities that make him well-suited for sensitive positions in society.
According to Chief Ajobo, Bioku is a complete gentleman deserving of trust and responsibility.
Other attendees at the event praised Governor Makinde for appointing Mogaji Adebukola Bioku as Auditor-General for Local Governments of Oyo State. They described Bioku as a pride of both Oyo State and Ibadanland, offering prayers for God’s continued protection and guidance for him in his new role.
In his welcome address, Engr. (Chief) Kunle Badmus thanked guests for honouring the invitation on short notice.
He referred to Bioku as a “son of the soil” whose achievements deserved celebration. Chief Badmus recalled their time together in Omo Aj’Orosun Club, where Bioku served as president and he (Badmus) was in charge of maintenance services.
Responding to the tributes, Mogaji Ismail Adebukola Bioku thanked God for his journey in public service. He appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for the opportunity to serve the state and humanity.
He revealed that Chief Badmus had long wished to celebrate him – even back when he was promoted to Permanent Secretary, Audit Service Commission of Oyo State – and finally succeeded on this occasion.
Bioku also expressed deep appreciation to Chief Badmus for organizing the event, which coincided with his birthday on May 13, 2025. He prayed that God would abundantly bless Chief Badmus for his kind gesture.
The birthday aspect of the event was led by Chief Adebayo Ajobo, the Baale of Aboundẹ-Ibadan, with songs and prayers for the celebrant.
Despite being a discreet gathering, the event drew elite personalities who used the opportunity to praise Governor Makinde’s leadership. They noted that Bioku’s appointment reflected the Governor’s commitment to excellence and merit-based governance.

Elhadj (Otunba) Abu-Satar Hamed unexpectedly served as the Master of Ceremonies at the event. He impressed the audience with his dexterity in coordinating both corporate and social functions, adding colour and professionalism to the celebration.
