ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON, is expected to grace the Grand Finale of the 2025 Oronna Ilaro Festival as Special Guest of Honour, alongside his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l Magazine and Online by Ajiroba Dapo Oke, Chairman, Media, Publicity and Programme, on behalf of Pharmacist Lekan Asuni, the Chairman, Oronna Festival Committee, the event will also attract members of the Federal and State Legislative Houses, Ministers, members of the State Executive Council, and top corporate executives from within and outside Nigeria.
The release reads in part, “I, Pharmacist Lekan Asuni, on behalf of Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, MFR, the Olu of Ilaro & Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, the Olu Ilaro-in-Council, and the entire people of the ancient town of Ilaro, warmly invite all sons and daughters of Ilaro, cultural enthusiasts, tourists, and dignitaries to join in this year’s celebration.”
It added, “Come witness the grace of tradition, the joy of community, and the heartbeat of Yewaland that makes Ilaro one of the most peaceful towns in the country.”
This year’s festival, proudly themed, “Festival of Joyful Grace,” and holding under the auspices of Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, MFR, the Asade Agunloye IV, Olu and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, will commence with a road show and unveiling of the Festival Mascot on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Ajiroba Oke further outlined several colourful programmes for the week-long event, including Visits to deities and traditional homages; Cultural parades and the Onigbaaje Procession Carnival; Sisi Ilaro Beauty Pageant Competition; Ilaro Special Cuisine Feast tagged “Poosu Night”; Egungun, Igunnuko, and Efe/Gelede performances; Youth and sporting activities and Interdenominational thanksgiving services, among others.
The Grand Finale and Reception will hold on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground, Empire Field, Ilaro, where the festival will climax in celebration, music, and cultural splendour.
This year’s festival promises to be a radiant showcase of historical heritage, arts, tradition, and culture, honouring the legendary warrior, Oronna, the revered hero who defended Ilaro against external threats and brought enduring peace to the land.
Beyond the cultural pageantry, the festival reflects the community’s gratitude for recent developmental strides and the ongoing transformation of Ilaro, which residents attribute to divine favour.
