IBADAN – The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Olu of Lisa Kingdom, Oba Oladele Odugbemi will on Thursday, October 6, 2022 receive Awards of Recognition from the leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), South West.
Governor Abiodun is expected to receive the “Best Governor on Infrastructural Development” while Olu of Lisa Kingdom, Oba Oladele Odugbemi will receive the “Grand Patron, NUJ South West”, for the Royal Father’s valuable contributions to journalism profession, growth and development of journalism in Nigeria.
Others to receive NUJ awards include the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu and his Ondo State counterpart, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu among other notable Nigerians.
The presentation of the awards which holds at the NUJ Press Centre, Iyanganku, Ibadan starts from 10am.
Oba Odugbemi since his installation as Baale of Lisa in 2005 till he was upgraded to Obaship status has been a media-friendly monarch and has contributed a lot to the development of Lisa Community through his personal efforts by executing valuable projects to better the lots of his people.
It would be recalled that Olu of Lisa Kingdom, Oba Oladele Odugbemi will be the second notable citizen of Ogun State to be honoured with the prestigious award of NUJ South West “Grand Patron” after Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief (Mrs.) Alaba Lawson who was honoured with “Grand Patroness” of NUJ South West at a colourful event in Osogbo, Osun State in 2005.
