Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr is not leaving any stone unturned as regards picking the best players to prosecute both the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations inconsequential last group qualifying match against Seychelles slated for Late Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, and also a friendly match against 2019 AFCON bound team the Pharaohs of Egypt at the same venue.
The Eagles gaffer who did not reveal much as regards the 2019 AFCON program he submitted to the NFF last Friday said that time was no longer on his team’s side to start preparations for the finals of the 2019 AFCON, a reason why he has embarked on a strong monitoring of his players in their various clubs.
“We have laid a good foundation for this team from the Russia 2018 World Cup squad we have some quality and very good players to build on. We have gone a step further to improve on the team with the introduction of very young but talented players like Samuel Kalu, Semi Ajayi, Samuel Chukwueze and Jamilu Collins.
“We are still searching for more but a few that have special qualities and must be better than the players we already have in the team.
“My major work is to monitor them I’m their clubs to know their playing conditions and to be able to help them if the need arises”, Rohr disclosed to newsmen from his base in France.
Rohr between November and now has attended matches in France and Germany to watch live League, Champions League and Europa League matches involving Super Eagles players.
