FG To Employ 1Million Youths Through N-Power

The Federal government has promised to increase number of the employed graduates through the N-Power programme from 500,000 to 1million.

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo disclosed this on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the official launching of Ogun State job Portal in Abeokuta, the State capital.

Osinbajo explained that the gesture became necessary to provide jobs for teeming unemployed youths.

The Vice President further disclosed that Federal government was planning to set up Enterprise Bank towards empowering young people.

The Professor also said he would continue to interface with the present administration of Dapo Abiodun to give more opportunities to unemployed graduates.

On his part, the State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun  said the job portal would register unemployed youths  on a continuous basis, with a view to providing  them jobs and training opportunities suitable for their trade and academic qualifications.

Governor Abiodun who called on the people of Ogun state to continue supporting his administration towards successful implementation of government’s policies which would improve all sectors of state’s economy, urged  people of the state to shun violence.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Job Creation and Youth Empowerment, Mr. Lekan Olude, explained that all graduates and those with vocational training across the state should give information about their qualification, while the  government match them with potentials employers.

At the launching ceremony not less 20, unemployed youths in the State were given automatic employment.
