FCT, ABUJA, NIGERIA – The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festival.
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Monday, June 2, 2025.
The statement was issued on his behalf by Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended his warm congratulations to the Muslim Ummah both in Nigeria and the diaspora, urging them to reflect on the spirit of sacrifice and unwavering faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) during this sacred occasion.
He encouraged Muslims to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria, while also calling on all Nigerians to unite in the ongoing efforts to rebuild the nation.
The Minister reassured citizens that the reforms and initiatives being implemented under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are aimed at restoring Nigeria to the path of progress and achieving sustainable development.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo however urged all Nigerians to join hands with the administration in restoring Nigeria’s glory as a truly great and prosperous nation.
