ABEOKUTA – Federated Chapel (FeC) of the Ogun State Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) under the leadership of Comrade AbuSatar Idowu (Elhadj) as Chairman, holds One Day Lecture/Award Night on Friday, December 18, 2020.
According to Comrade Hamed, “the Federated Chapel is a professional group of Publishers and Editors, of both the community newspapers and online publications in Ogun State.
“In view of the past #EndSARS protest, we feel that it is imperative that we discuss the gains and losses of the crisis as it affects the security apparatus of the country and the Media Role At Curbing Fake News In Our Society.
“To achieve the set goal, the reason why we are holding a day lecture where all security agencies in Ogun state are expected to attend.
“However, based on our assessment and deep knowledge about security operation, we invited CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun, Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta, Ogun State as a Guest Speaker on the topic – “Security Implications Of #Endsars Protest: The Challenges”.
The FeC boss stated further, “Our target is to examine the effect(s) of the #EndSARS violence and the promotion of dialogue in conflict management.
“On the Lecture, we also spread our invitation across to all security agencies, including student union bodies among other related departments in the state.
“We also invited Alhaji Waheed Odusile, the Ogun State Honourable Commissioner for Information & Strategy to present a paper on “Media Role At Curbing Fake News In Our Society”.
“To round off the epoch event we shall honour some individuals and corporate bodies for their contributions to ensuring a crime-free society, development of the siocio-economy cum Journalism profession and empowerment of the youth in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.”
