FCT, ABUJA, NIGERIA – Grace Adayilo, the Head of Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has died after collapsing in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025, in Abuja, the Federal Capital.
Her sudden passing has left the FCT community in shock. While details remain unclear, no official statement has yet been released by her family or the FCT Administration.
Adayilo made history in October 2024 when President Bola Tinubu appointed her as the FCT Head of Service – the first woman and indigenous person to occupy the position.

Just days before her death, she had represented FCT Minister Nyesom Wike at the G7 security meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, August 28, 2025 – her last public appearance.
News of her untimely death has deeply shaken the FCT administrative circle and those who worked closely with her, many of whom are mourning the loss of a trailblazing leader.
