IBADAN, OYO STATE, NIGERIA – The Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan (FCAIB), in partnership with the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), will commence two degree programmes on Monday, November 3, 2025.
According to a statement e-signed and released by Mrs. Wilson Oyekemi, Head of the Public Relations Unit of FCAIB, the newly approved degree programmes are B.Sc. (Home Science and Management) and B.Agric. (Agriculture).
The statement noted that FUNAAB had granted formal approval for both programmes, which will take off at FCAIB beginning from the 2025/2026 academic session.
The development marks a major milestone in the College’s academic advancement and strategic growth.
Over the past century, the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan, has remained steadfast in its mission to promote Nigeria’s agricultural development through quality education, skills acquisition, and the training of middle-level manpower for the agricultural sector.
The College continued to empower students with practical, hands-on training and modern agricultural knowledge designed to meet the evolving needs of agribusiness and food production in the 21st century.

At the helm of affairs is the 9th and current Provost, Prof. Jonathan Jeremiah Atungwu, the 28th head of the 105-year-old institution. Prof. Atungwu, a renowned scholar in Plant Nematology, is an expert in Organic Agriculture and Biopesticides Development. Under his leadership, FCAIB continues to consolidate its legacy of excellence while expanding its frontiers in agricultural education and innovation.
