IBADAN, OYO STATE, NIGERIA – The Provost of the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan (FCAIB), Prof. Jonathan J. Atungwu, has charged newly promoted members of staff to demonstrate greater professionalism, dedication, and productivity in advancing the College’s vision of excellence in agricultural education and training.
According to a statement e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l Magazine and Online Platform by Wilson Oyekemi, Head, Public Relations Unit of the College, Prof. Atungwu commended the staff for their diligence and honourable service, urging them to uphold FCAIB’s long-standing tradition of integrity, discipline, and academic excellence.
On behalf of the College Management, the Provost congratulated all the beneficiaries of the recent promotion exercise, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of hard work and commitment.
FCAIB recently announced the promotion of 57 members of staff, following the approval of its 2025 promotion exercise by the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN).
The approval, conveyed in a letter dated October 24, 2025, and signed by Mrs. Khalimat Balogun, Acting Director of Administration, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, granted the Council’s consent for the implementation of the College’s promotion results.
Leading the list of promoted staff is Engr. Dr. Titus Ilori, who ascended from the rank of Principal Lecturer to Chief Lecturer – the highest academic position in the College system, equivalent to that of a Professor in universities.
Dr. Ilori, who joined the College in August 2002 as an Assistant Lecturer, specializes in Mechanical Engineering, Crop Processing and Storage (Computer Modelling). His elevation marks over two decades of exceptional service, research excellence, and mentorship at FCAIB.
Also promoted is Dr. (Mrs.) Adenike Komolafe, who advanced from Senior Lecturer to Principal Lecturer. A Soil Fertility (Microbiology Option) expert with 17 years of experience, Dr. Komolafe joined the College in 2008 and earned her Ph.D. in 2017.
Her promotion recognizes her outstanding contributions to teaching, research, and student mentorship.
In total, 53 senior staff were elevated across multiple professional categories, including Lecturers, Instructors, Agricultural and Laboratory Technologists, Animal Health and Husbandry Technologists, Technical Officers, Administrative Officers, Executive Officers, Store Officers, Library Officers, Graphic Arts Officers, and Catering Officers.
Also, four junior staff of the College were promoted in the 2025 exercise, reinforcing FCAIB’s commitment to rewarding excellence and fostering career progression across all levels of its workforce.
