IBADAN, NIGERIA – Monday, November 17, 2025 – The Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan (FCAIB), on Monday, November 17, 2025, conducted the Financial Bids Opening for its 2025 Selective Tendering Capital Projects.
The event took place at the College Board Room and was carried out in strict compliance with the Public Procurement Act, 2007.
The exercise, coordinated by the College Procurement Department, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and due process in the execution of capital projects.
Present at the event were members of the College Management, Tenders Board and Procurement Planning Committee, including the Provost, Prof. Jonathan J. Atungwu; Deputy Provost (Administration), Dr. Musiliu O. Adenekan; Deputy Provost (Academic), Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria E. Okpeze; Registrar, Mr. Abimbade S. Abass; Head of Bursary, Mrs. Theresa Adeoye; Director of Audit, Mr. O.F.. Karunwi; College Librarian, Dr. (Mrs.) Mojisola Osunkoya; Chairman of Deans and Directors, Engr. Dr. Titus Ilori; as well as Senior Staff including Engr. J. A. Adebisi, Engr. J. A. Ijadunola and Mrs. Abimbola Ala.
In his opening address, the Provost appreciated the Management Team, the Tenders Board, the Procurement Planning Committee, Observers, Bidders, and the Press for their presence and cooperation.
He commended the Procurement Department for thier professionalism and reaffirmed that all processes were duly carried out in line with procurement guidelines before the financial bids opening.
The Head of Procurement, Engr. Dr. Oluwaseun Akinyele, disclosed that out of thirty-one (31) technical bidders, twenty-eight (28) made it to financial stage. Twenty-seven (27) bidders eventually submitted their financial bids, while only one (1) could not meet up with the submission.
The bids were opened across seven (7) projects, which fall under procurement of goods and services.
The projects include:
1. Purchase of Motor Vehicle for College Use
2. Development of Human Capacity in Agricultural Services
3. Development of College Demonstration/Livestock/Crop Farms and Provision of Farm Implements
4. Development of College Agricultural Outreach Centres
5. Accreditation and Reaccreditation of ND and HND Programmes
6. Vocational Training of Unemployed Youths, Women, and Retirees in Arable/Organic Crop Production and Livestock Rearing
7. Purchase of Office Furniture and Fittings in the College.
In his closing remarks, the Provost expressed gratitude to God and praised the dedication of all teams involved. He acknowledged the Observers for their active participation and constructive feedback.
He assured that the College would conduct a thorough verification process for all lowest evaluated responsive bidders before final award decisions are made.
Observers at the event included Mrs. Olufunke Olayiwola, Project Manager, Life Builders (NGO); Engr. Ayo Ojedele, Chairman, Nigerian Society of Engineers (Ibadan Branch); as well as representatives from FCAIB, FCAHPT, and other institutional stakeholders.
