Evo Community Serenades Son, Mayor Emmanuel Onunwor

RIVERS STATE – The people of Evo Kingdom, Obio/Akpor LGA, Rivers State, Nigeria have showered encomiums on one of their sons – Hon. Emmanuel Onunwor, the first Nigerian to be elected Mayor in the United States of America.

In a commendation message, signed on behalf of Ogbako Evo by the Secretary, High Chief Monday Wehere JP and made available to the media, he described Hon. Emmanuel Onunwo as a worthy son of Evo Kingdom whom they are proud of.

The message reads in part, “After attending your primary and secondary schools in Port Harcourt, you left for the United States in 1980, attended the university; earned a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Urban Studies at the Cleveland State University.

“Thereafter, you entered into politics and became the most powerful blackman in the County of Cleveland, Ohio State in America, won all your elections with landslide victories and was loved by your constituents.

“You were closed to winning the Governorship election, leveraging on that to pursue your presidential ambition which was your dream, when your traducers with hatred, racism and blackmail for blacks in politics in the United States unknown to you decided to set you up to cut short your rising political profile as they did to Obama throughout his presidency.

“Like the heroic Julius Ceasar, you got to the United States, you saw, you conquered. We are proud of you for the honour, respect and dignity you brought to Nigerians in the United States.

“You are a Hero and you remain a Hero. We are indeed proud of you”
