Eselu Of Iselu Calls On Oba Olugbenle To Champion Ogun West Monarchs, Citizens’ Fundraising Drive For Aircraft To Support Gateway Airport Operations

ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Eselu of Iselu, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, has called on the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle – who also serves as the Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas – to spearhead a fundraising launch for the purchase of an aircraft that will transport passengers from the Gateway International Airport in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State.

Oba Akinyemi made this appeal on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the private palace of the Olu of Ilaro during the installation ceremony of Chief and Chief Jerry (Mrs.) Rosemary Oluranti as the Otunba Bobaseto of Ilaro-Yewa. and Yeye Otunba Bobaseto of Ilaro-Yewa on respectively.

The monarch emphasized that since the airport was established by the Ogun State Government, of which Ogun West is an integral part, it is only appropriate that the people of the region contribute to ensuring its effective operation.

He further urged all sons and daughters of Yewaland, as well as residents of the area, to promptly support the initiative by contributing towards the purchase of the aircraft.

Oba Akinyemi reaffirmed that the growth and development of Ogun State is a shared responsibility between the government and its citizens.

He stressed that the government cannot achieve everything alone, and therefore, indigenes and residents alike must give their unwavering support to the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun in its efforts to advance the state.
