EPE, EPE LG, LAGOS STATE, NIGERIA – The Chairman of Epe Local Government Area in Lagos State, Ms. Surah Animashaun, has assured residents that they can expect more dividends of democracy in the near future.
Ms. Animashaun stated this during an assessment tour of the ongoing projects, saying that the interventions made so far are just the beginning.
In her statement, Animashaun highlighted various projects at Wale-Logun, Akodu, Shagari Housing Estate Gate, and Egbekunle in Papa, as well as S. Rahaman and Alhaja Khadijat Kareem streets. She announced plans for significant reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads in areas such as Etitun, Ajanosi, Ajagannabe, and NITEL-Odubote.
Reflecting on her two-and-a-half years in office, Animashaun reiterated her commitment to justice, fairness, and equitable distribution of resources across the local government. She stated, “Within the remaining months before the 2025 local government election, you will witness more dividends of democracy through economic empowerment and developmental projects.”
Animashaun reassured residents that her achievements are just the “tips of the iceberg” and pledged to continue delivering on her commitments.
She acknowledged the economic challenges faced by the council, but expressed confidence in overcoming them through collective responsibility.
She highlighted improvements in infrastructure, including road networks, healthcare facilities, and educational resources, such as providing books, bags, and uniforms for public school pupils. Additionally, two ambulances have been procured for local hospitals.
Animashaun urged residents of Etitun, Ajagannabe, and NITEL-Odubote to remain patient as the local government works to rehabilitate the roads and improve social amenities.
“We will do everything possible within our means to fix the roads,” she assured, emphasizing her administration’s dedication to enhancing the community’s well-being.
