Eid Celebration: Ijebu-Ode Residents Advised On Safety Measures

IJEBU ODE – Towards a hitch-free Eid-el-kabir celebration, residents of Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State have been advised to be safety conscious and observe Covid-19 preventive measures by maintaining social distance, use of facemasks and ensuring hygienic environment.

The Chairman, Transition Committee of the Council, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile gave the advice while speaking with newsmen in Ijebu-Ode, noting that the festive period was usually characterised with influx of people to celebrate the season with their loved ones, cautioning everyone to avoid undue exuberance and let moderation be their watchword.

He also warned commercial drivers against drunkenness, overspeeding and disregard to traffic rules, urging them to ensure good condition of their vehicles before embarking on any journey.

“During the festive period, we have different individuals travelling in and out of this city and as such, we need to be alert in our area, because miscreants use the period to carry out their evil work. It is only when we are security conscious, that we can be saved from their evil works”, he said.
