ECONOMIC REVOLUTION NEEDS TECHNICAL EDUCATION – PROF. ODEMUYIWA

ABEOKUTA – The Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa has said that for the country to achieve robust economic growth that will meet global best practices, there is the need to standardise its technical education.

Odemuyiwa made this known recently, during a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer, Coleman Wires and Cables, Dr. Solomon Kayode, in Sagamu, saying a cross-link between Industry and Technical Schools is key to developing youths in industrial skills.

He sought for further collaboration with allied companies for the upgrading of Technical and Vocational Education, in order to make industrial sectors employable for the youths, appreciating Dr. Kayode for his philanthropic gestures towards the development of education in general.

In his address, Dr. Kayode who said he was keen in the technological advancement of the State, urged the present administration to train and retrain graduates on relevant skills to get them off the job hunting, saying that it would build them for a greater future.

He said the company is ready to train more graduates on Mechanical and Electrical aspects of engineering, noting that it would encourage them to have relevant interest in entrepreneurship and contribute economically to the society.
