Don Distributes Palliatives To Rural Women

ABEOKUTA: A Don with the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Professor Hellen Bodunde has distributed palliatives to rural women of Apena, Eleweran, in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.
The efforts of the Don carried out under the auspices of a Non-governmental body, Education, Gender, Youth and Family Network (EDUGUF-N), was aimed at assisting the government by reaching out to those government palliatives could not reach.
The palliatives distribution was also done alongside training for the women to take care of their households.
Speaking during the distribution of the palliatives, the Don, Professor Bodunde who is the coordinator of the NGO, said she was moved to assist the women who are always at the receiving end of issues affecting the family.
She hinted that the training on the making of hand washing soaps, hygiene and the mode of hand washing was to enable the women manage the families very well.
Accompanied by EDUGUF-N volunteers during the outreach, Prof. Bodunde also used the training to gather information on the effects of the COVID-19 among the women.
The palliatives package handed over to about 50 women from Apena in Eleweran, Abeokuta include rice, beans, soap, nose cover, and eggs.
