IMEKO-AFON: The Chairman, Transition Committee, Imeko/Afon Local Government, Hon. Olusola Oke, has created two Isolation centres for Coronavirus cases, within the Local Government area.
According to a press release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Ladipo Lolade Peculiar, Information Officer II, Imeko Afon Local Government, the development was to complement Governor Dapo Abiodun’s efforts and in line with the State Government directive, for Local Governments, in Ogun State, to adopt further appropriate measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, by identifying suitable facilities, in the likelihood of a surge at the grassroots.
Speaking during the inspection tour of the proposed facilities/isolation centers, the LG Chairman disclosed that Imeko Afon Local Government could not afford to take coronavirus scourge with levity because of the proximity of the Local Government to the Republic of Benin.
Hon. Olusola, then revealed that the two Isolation Centres were strategically located at the border town of Ilara, using the Primary Health Centre building and at Afon town, with the defunct Afon Local Council Development Area’s, (LCDA), building, at Oloka-Afon, serving as another Isolation Center.
The Chairman however assured all the people living in the Local Government Area of adequate provision of preventive medical equipment against the spread of coronavirus menace.
Present at the inspection tour were the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Olalotan Olusegun, the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusesi, Director of Information, Mrs. Oluyemi Ajayi and other Principal Officers in the Local Government.
